Taipei City Government announced smoking is prohibited for sidewalks around National Taiwan University, College of Social Sciences from September 1st, 2017.
To build a smoke-free outdoor environment and to protect general public from passive smoking, the Department of Health, Taipei City Department had set the smoke-free sidewalks around National Taiwan University (Address: No. 1, Sec. 4, Roosevelt Road, Taipei City), College of Social Sciences (Near Sec. 2, Xinhai Rd., Da’an Dist., Taipei City) from September 1st, 2017 based on Article 15, Paragraph 1, No. 13 of Tobacco Hazards Prevention Act. According to Article 31, Paragraph 1, violators will be fined from NT$2,000 to NT$10,000.
