Taipei City Government announces smoking is prohibited on sidewalks around entrance of Aaeon Building NTUST, the regulation comes into effect as of Feb 1, 2016.

To protect students, teaching staff, parents and general public from passive smoking, the Department of Health, Taipei City Government has set out to introduce smoke-free sidewalks around the school. The regulation is based on Article 15, Paragraph 1, No. 13 of Tobacco Hazards Prevention Act. We newly announced that sidewalks around entrance of Aaeon Building, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology as smoke-free environment (near Ln. 155, Sec. 3, Keelung Rd., Daan Dist., Taipei City). The regulation comes into effect as of Feb 1, 2016. According to Article 31, Paragraph 1, violators will be fined from NT$2,000 to NT$10,000.
