Great Success “2011 Taipei Healthy Cities Symposium” !

To let friends from local and abroad to understand more of the development and implementation results of the Taipei Healthy Cities programs, so as to enhance the exchanging of promotion experiences between international healthy cities, the Department of Health, Taipei City Government hosted the “2011 Taipei Healthy Cities Symposium” at the International Convention Center of the Chang Yung-fa Foundation Building in Taipei on Nov 14 & 15, 2011. With the main theme “Vision and Challenge of Healthy Cities in the 21st Century”, the Department invited 22 speakers from local and abroad, including Australia, Austria, and Hong Kong, to discuss topics on "Urban Planning and Governance", "Supportive Environment", "Emergency Response System", and "Healthy Behaviors". On site there were 37 health related posters provided by 12 district health centers, and various city and county governments, including New Taipei City, Miaoli County, Nantou County, and Jiayi City.

During the 2 day Symposium, a total of 345 participants from all over the world, including Hong Kong, Austria, Australia, Indonesia, Mongolia and various city and county government representatives, consists of New Taipei City, Hsinchu City, Taidong County, Miaoli County, Tainan City, Taoyuan County, Taichung City, and Keelung City, have showed their enthusiasm towards issues in building healthy city.
