The World Diabetes Day falls on November 14 every year. On October 29, 2016 (Saturday) 2 pm, Department of Health, Taipei City Government, together with the Taiwanese Association of Diabetes Educators and the Formosan Diabetes Care Foundation, is organizing a grand event at Taipei City Hall East Square to mark this day. The event will be held in the form of a carnival, where game booths will be set up for the public to participate and thus understand the importance of regular checkup and early diagnosis of diabetes. These entertaining and educational activities will remind the public to pay attention to diabetes. During the event, a lighting ceremony, which symbolizes blessing and the world’s common primary goal in the prevention and delay of “diabetes”, will be held. It calls on people from all walks of life to unite for diabetes, and conveys the determination in relation to the prevention and treatment of diabetes. To record this beautiful moment, a photography competition will be held during the lighting period of the World Diabetes Day. Public participation is encouraged.
