In order to protect the right to health of the general public from second-hand smoke and create an outdoor smoke-free environment, the Department of Health of Taipei City Government has listed the surrounding sidewalks and the motorcycle parking lot of the National Taipei University Taipei Campus and the surrounding sidewalks of National Taiwan University of Science and Technology as smoke-free venues in accordance with Subparagraph 4, Paragraph 1, Article 16 of the Tobacco Hazards Prevention Act starting from May 1, 2020. Smokers who violate the rules will be fined for NT$2,000 to NT$10,000 in accordance with Paragraph 1, Article 31 of the Act. For detailed information, please visit our Chinese official website.
