In order to protect citizens’ rights and interests in health and to build a non-smoking outdoor environment, we hereby announce in accordance with Article 16, paragraph 1, subparagraph 4 of the Tobacco Hazards Prevention Act that no smoking shall be allowed “outside of designated smoking areas around Taipei Main Station” starting January 1, 2022. Any citizen in breach of the non-smoking rule shall be punished by a fine at an amount of no less than NTD 2,000 but no more than NTD 10,000 in accordance with Article 31, paragraph 1 of the same Act.
